Sons of the Forest now has a rifle, but you have to find it. Much like every other item in the game, you need to explore every nook and cranny of the island to find the rifle. You would have to do that if we didn’t know exactly where to find the rifle in Sons of the Forest. Lucky for you, we do. Here is where to find the rifle in Sons of the Forest.

Sons of the Forest: Rifle location, explained

Sons of the Forest has many useful weapons and gadgets, like the Hang Glider for example, that you can find and use, but the rifle is a solid weapon great for killing cannibals.

There may be multiple locations to find the rifle in Sons of the Forest, but we have found the rifle in the Lake Cave which is the same place you find the Night Vision Goggles.

The Lake Cave is located on the southwest side of the island, west of the mountains. The first lake and major river are host to two Lake Cave entrances. Use the map above to show you exactly where the Lake Cave entrances are.

If the rifle doesn’t show up for you in this cave, I recommend saving your game outside the cave, exiting the game, booting it back up, and loading into your game. This method has worked to solve disappearing gear in the past and might work if the rifle doesn’t show up in the cave.

With the rifle in hand, I recommend saving the ammo for when you really need it. You might consider saving it for the bosses. Now that you’ve found the rifle, you might want to start looking for a drivable golf cart.
