As you beat the main campaign of Diablo 4, you’ll have access to many activities. Some of them only open up during the end game. So even if you take down Lilith in the story, there will be no shortage of things to do. Since Diablo 4 is considered a live service game, many activities only appear for a limited amount of time. A good example of this is Helltide events, which can spawn anywhere in Sanctuary at any time. After you’ve completed a Helltide event, you can earn currency to open up a Helltide Mystery Chest. Upon opening one, you may get strong gear such as the Black River Scythe for the Necromancer. If you want to know where all the Helltide Mystery Chest locations are in Diablo 4, this guide can help you with that.

While there’s no specific spot where these chests appear, the map below gives a general idea of the area. But while you’re in the Helltide event, many of these chests may pop up on your mini-map. If a Helltide event is ongoing and you’re not in the area of the event, the chests won’t appear at all. So be participating first in order to have them show up for you.

What are Helltide Chests?

As mentioned, they are chests that only show up after you’ve deposited a set amount of Aberrant Cinders. Once you do that, you get a Helltide Chest or rather a Tormented Gifts of Mystery. They are probably one the best ways to farm for Sacred and Unquie gear that is only found on World Tier 3 and 4. This means you must be playing on the high World Tiers in order to be a part of the event. Diablo 4 gets a whole lot harder on higher difficulties, but Helltide Mystery Chests make the whole experience worthwhile.
